A lotta Coppers

I had been assigned to take a photo of the Sergeant and his team from “Operation Safe Return” for the front page of the newspaper.

After meeting the Sergeant at the local police station I managed to convince him to gather all the members of the operation, spread from Port Macquarie to Tweed heads, to come together for this one photo.

Despite the logistics and cost he agreed to meet me at the Coffs Harbour Jetty at 5pm. When all the police drove up in one big convoy for the photo, I think they were followed by half the population of Coffs Harbour, all wondering what was going on.

For this photo I’m standing on the back of the car (for height) taking the photo and behind me is a massive group of local onlookers.

I had about half an hour to set it up, shoot and then race back to get it in for the front-page deadline.
