DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME!!!

This was quite a logistical nightmare, but worth it! 

As you can see in the behind the scenes video, when taking this photo, the gymnast starts off ready to jump and is lit only by the modelling lights. 

At the time of the actual photo she jumps into pose, gets splashed with water that is thrown in the split second before she jumps (timed to hit as the photo is taken), at the same time she is frozen and temporary blinded by 3 studio flashes, and then has to land safely, dripping with water in total darkness as the lights reset.
