  • Concept art, story boards and visualisation.

    Visually communicating an idea, a key frame, or the look and feel of a new character is and important part of making sure everyone involved in a project is on the same page. We show you all steps of this process including conceptual development, creating thumbnails, concept roughs, prototypes or models and finally, usable finished art artworks

    Week 1
    Working with design briefs, establishing a context and working out constraints, concept development, creative thinking and formulating ideas.

    Week 2
    Creating thumbnails, research and concept roughs.

    Week 3
    Incorporating feedback and refining the look and feel of your work.

    Week 4
    Story boards, narratives and development of an initial prototype.

    Week 5
    Refining and further developing your prototype or model.

    Week 6
    Finished artworks and documentation.

    Times and dates: 1 day per week for 6 weeks. 9:30am to 2:30pm

  • Making objects and small props for film

    This is a great introduction to the object based creative design process. You will create an artwork of your choosing and we will step you through it following the same process we do as creative professionals. There is no prior knowledge or skills required.

    We will take you through planning your work with research and creative thinking; the creating stage of concept design and experimentation; the refining and putting together or building of your artwork; and the documentation stage where you photograph your work imparting a senses of narrative through lighting and scale.

    It is great way to explore and discover a world of cross-pollination of media and disciplines from art, design and photography.

  • Portrait, portfolio and still shots.

    In this course you will learn about creating still images for all aspects of the film and media industries.

    We will cover: planning, composing and setting up shots to fulfil a brief; using correct lighting and capturing images, post production and editing for commercial use.

    With so many exciting new processes and ways to create out there, this course brings some of them together in a focused and purposeful way.
